Gustavo Duque

Ph.D, FRACP, FGSA

Chair

Professor Gustavo Duque is a renowned geriatrician and biomedical scientist specializing in age-related bone loss, osteoporosis, sarcopenia, osteosarcopenia, and frailty in older individuals. He researches the mechanisms, therapies, and biomarkers for these conditions, with a focus on the impact of vitamin D, exercise, and proteins on bone and muscle mass.

Ocean facilitates collaboration among researchers and institutions within the network, overseeing communications, events, funding applications, project management, and more. With a background in health and exercise, she contributes to several research projects focused on physical activity and aging, including the SAFE (Senior Adult Fitness Exercise) program.
